Halshan Premium Raw Food

The evoution of dogs from survival in the wild to domestication has brought many changes. Before we adopted them, the diet of dogs was mainly small rodents, birds, and leftovers of larger predators. These filled all their nutritional needs - protein and fat from the tissue, fiber from hair and feathers, plus nutrients from the partially digested food of the prey. The closer we can recreate our animals diets to what their body is designed to eat, the healthier they will be. Halshan Premium Raw Food provides your dogs and cats with a healthy foundation of fresh meats and vegetables.
The meat used in Halshan meals is antibiotic and hormone free, with fresh vegetables. It is U.S.D.A. approved for human consumption. There are no fillers, grains or water added to the diets. Halshan does not add organ meat to lower the cost. Organ meat can be purchased seperately however, if so desired. Brand new product as of June of 2009 by Halshan - Synergy! It has ten percent organ meat so for those of you who like this, you no longer have to purchase it seperately! Synergy generally runs about ten cents more than the regular Halshan meals.
Our prices are a bit higher than retail stores. This is because it is costing us much more than the $15 delivery fee to get it to your home (we have to pay an employee hourly plus mileage). Our delivery service is really meant to be more of a convenience than as a money saver. And our own dogs eat Halshan products so we really believe in this food!
Most general vets will not support a raw food diet, but this stems primarily from the fact that most vets do not have additional nutritional education and are not nutrition experts. Keep in mind that their profit from selling "prescription" diets is very profitable. We recommend any pet owners who are serious about their dog's longevity and health, to seek out nutritional guidance from a holistic vet or homeopathic vet. Our favorite holistic vet in Los Angeles is Dr. Marc Bittan . In fact, he is the vet who first educated Cathy about the benefits of raw food and introduced her to Halshan many years ago. Also - a must read website is the Dog Food Project - we don't know who started this website but it is an amazing resource for any pet owner, it helps you to learn how to read food ingredients and also rates the brands of commercial pet food. Raw food is not for everyone and this website will help guide you to learn how to read labels when selecting a commercial dog food.
